I love Resident Evil. I distinctively remember writing about my love for Alice, the protagantist in the film.As a NON-fan of horror/scary movies, Resident Evil somehow attracted me, and eventually, turned me into a major fan. But yeah, i have to admit that the zombies are still not warming up, even though im at my Fifth movie. Five amazing movies, one exciting plot. From the first movie, where humanity was abudant, the T-virus was released to the enviroment. It was impossible to contain, and the virus surfaced to the world, and caused rampage everywhere. It consumed the human race, almost forcing extinction, if not for a small number of survivors. I love the movies, because of the story it tells. How the T-virus affects the world, and more importantly, the fates of humans who trys to control the powerful virus, for selfish intentions. They usually dont end well. And the zombie-monsters that are created in the process are a sight to behold. From Resident Evil: The Licker. The most prominant feature would be the exposed brain, however, they are named for their extremely long tongues. They do not have eyes, and they can only count on their other senses to spot their preys. This thing killed Spence, the original thief of the T-virus (hence resulting in the disaster), and mutates after feeding on his fresh DNA. :O From Resident Evil:Apocalypse:
Nemesis. Project Nemesis was activated to track down Alice, and ordered to challenge Alice to a duel to the death by Major Cain. (that bastard! Its not like you're watching a show.) He wanted to find out who was the better 'soldier' as they were both Projects by Umbrella Corp. Alice evenutally defeated him, but before dealing the final blow, realized he was her old friend, Matt (from the first movie). Her actions rekindled some humanity in Nemesis, and helped her against the Umbrella Corp soliders; eventually even saving her from a crashing helicopter. :'(
From Resident Evil:Extinction:
Tyrant. This monster was created after Dr Issacs injected himself with massive dosages of the T-virus vaccine, trying to counter his infection. A gunshot from the CEO's security officer triggered his mutation into Tyrant, who kills him immediately. The Tyrant has enhanced healing powers, strength and agility. Seemingly invincible, he was sliced by the replica of the Hive's laser security system. Alice was about to suffer the same fate, but was saved by one of her clones in the nick of time.
From Resident Evil: Afterlife: The Axeman/Executioner Majini. This monster mutated from a Majini - humans infected by a certain type of virus which allows them to retain human intelligence, but losing rational-thinking at the same time. The Axeman was formerly an executioner in his pre-infection days, explaining the weapon he wields. He has a huge build, and is extremely strong. He was killed by both Alice and Claire, when he stormed the fort they were in together with his zombie 'friends'. Finally...Resident Evil:Retribution. Shall not spoil! Watch it yourself. :) All i can say about Retribution is that it was amazing (as usual!), but too short. Way too short. |
