Gamer Girls

To those who know me, you would probably know that i'm a "Gamer Girl".Well, I'm not totally committed to it though, i must admit. I just....... play. Since my younger days, console games, computer games, strategy game, almost any type of game interested me. Even if i wasn't good at it. So, it wasnt surprising to see me playing games that "only" guys play. Eg, Left 4 Dead, Defense of the Ancient(Dota) and now most recently, League of Legends(LoL). Many of my (girl) friends were actually taken aback when they knew that i had such interests, playing games that were not meant for girls originally. I guess i dont have that 'gamer' look! (My friends couldn't understand my first choice of IT course either for Poly!) I just keep surprising people, huh? :) But there's always this outlook of people when they see a girl with a game console. They either perceive us to be: 1. Noobs - for playing a game that only guys 'excel' in. To be honest, this is really an understatement! There is no disparity in sex. What counts at the end, in the game, is the level of skills you have. It doesnt mean that a girl cannot perform as well as a guy in the battlefield. 2. Weirdo - same reason as above. Usually, from the point of a girl. If i were a 'normal' girl, i might probably think a girl playing such games is weird and unusual as well. Traditionally, such activities were left to guys, while the girls would be out shopping, being pretty, doing 'girl' stuff. But hey, everyone has different interests, right? You go on and be pretty, i'll be slaying minions and champions. ;) Well, yeah my point is, people should not be so rigid in their thinking. Just the other day, i went to a LAN shop with my friends to spend some time. Even before entering the shop, my own friends were doubting me, saying "A girl? In a LAN shop? Dont you think its weird?". ._. I immediately pointed out a girl sitting in the front of a row of computers. (A hot caucasian somemore!) To prove my point, there are many Professional Gamer Girls playing games as a career! Taipei Assassins's colalin
From Taiwan, ĉçİç has been playing professionally for more than 1.5 years. She is also currently supporting her team in the Garena Premier League (GPL), competing against other Professional teams from various countries. (To add, she's cute!)
Many Game Masters (GMs) of Garena also plays LoL, such as GM Bibi, GM Saelis, and so on.
So, there is nothing wrong with being a Gamer Girl at all!
Games, and proud of it.
